Tab Organizer Terms of Service

Tab Organizer is a Chrome extension for organizing browser tabs, maintained by Julia. These terms describe your responsibilities and ours when you use its local features and optional account, cloud sync, and AI features. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using and uninstall the extension.

1. The service
Tab Organizer provides tab saving, collections, notes, search, bookmark import, and data export. Some versions also offer Google sign-in, cloud sync, AI sorting suggestions, and link checks. Available features depend on your installed version and the services offered at the time.
2. Your accounts and devices
Local features do not require an account. Signing in with Google starts syncing your workspace with that account, including data saved before sign-in. Check that you are using the intended account, and protect your Google account, device, and browser profile.
For AI features, use a provider account and API key you are authorized to use. Requests go directly from your browser to your chosen provider and may incur charges on your account. Once you configure an API key, selecting tabs may trigger sorting requests. Fees and usage limits are governed by your agreement with the provider.
3. Your content and acceptable use
You retain your rights to notes and other original content you create. You grant us a limited permission to process that content only as needed to provide the storage, sync, and other features you use. Saving a link does not change ownership of the linked website or third-party content.
Only save, import, or transmit content you are authorized to handle, and comply with applicable law. Do not use the service to attempt unauthorized access to another person's account or data, disrupt the service, bypass security controls, or interfere with other users.
4. AI, links, and third-party services
AI sorting suggestions may be inaccurate. Review them before applying them. Tab Organizer does not guarantee the content, safety, or continued availability of third-party websites. A link check is not a website security assessment.
Google, Supabase, AI providers, and other relevant services have their own terms and privacy policies. Changes, restrictions, or outages affecting those services may affect Tab Organizer features.
5. Backups and data loss
Regularly export JSON backups of important workspaces. HTML bookmark exports do not preserve all notes and workspace information. Cloud sync is not a substitute for an independent backup.
Clearing browser data, uninstalling the extension, switching accounts, accidental deletion, or sync conflicts may change or remove data. Export a backup before switching accounts. Signing out or uninstalling does not automatically delete cloud data; see the Privacy Policy for deletion options.
6. Availability and liability
We will make reasonable efforts to maintain the service, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or suitability for every purpose. The service is provided as available and in its current condition.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect losses or lost profits arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limit your statutory consumer rights.
7. Changes, discontinuation, and access restrictions
Features and services may change for maintenance, technical, or security reasons. For significant feature changes or a planned shutdown of cloud services, we will provide advance notice and an opportunity to export your data where reasonably practicable.
We may restrict cloud access if you violate these terms or put other users or the service at risk, and explain the reason where reasonably practicable. You may stop using the service, uninstall the extension, or contact us to request deletion of your cloud account at any time.
8. Updates to these terms and contact
We will publish revised terms and their date on this page and provide reasonable notice of material changes. If you do not agree to updated terms, you may stop using the service and export or request deletion of your data.
